Let the heavens be full of joy. Let the earth be glad. Let the ocean and everything in it roar. Let the fields and everything in them be glad. Let all the trees in the forest sing for joy. Let all creation be full of joy in front of the Lord, because He is coming to judge the earth. He will faithfully judge the people of the world in keeping with what is right.

Psalm 96:11-13

Think

This scripture passage starts out with a huge hype song, doesn’t it? Let all sing for joy! All creation sings His praise with a roar! This song must have had an anointed drummer who is outside of the drum cage! And then the beat drops…All creation is singing out of gladness because the Lord will come to judge all the earth. He will faithfully judge the world in keeping what is right. The song takes a turn. As a people, we cry out for justice and His Kingdom’s restoration. However, as His disciples, do we lend our voices to all of creation with a song of joy and a roar of praise for our Great Judge? Do we trust Him to judge and bring justice and restore all in keeping with what is right? If so, may we shout with joy and gladness with all creation that He is good, faithful, and just!

Breath Prayer Explanation

Breath prayers are a form of contemplative prayers linked to the rhythm of your breath. Breath prayer has been practiced in the church for thousands of years and is a 1 to 2 sentence prayer you silently pray 5-10 times consecutively throughout the day as you inhale and exhale.

It’s a centering prayer for our minds and hearts to remember God within all circumstances. Breath prayer is a simple yet transformative spiritual practice!

An example of a breath prayer is, “Father, you are Holy” (prayed silenty as you inhale), “Help me be holy” (prayed silently as you exhale).
